Had I realized this I probably would have purchased a different embroidery machine. I was told that there is a program that you can put on your Mac and it will convert. Check with your dealer. I use Embrilliance software on my Mac. It works easily and there are several YouTube videos to show how to use it. Is the process the same for all Bernina embroidery machines?
